Meeting the challenge of change

01 June 2021

Many people say that change is the only constant in the world. Large organisations like the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) change either because they want to or because they have to. Sometimes circumstances cause unexpected change, as was the case with the global coronavirus pandemic. Change is not an easy thing to do; there are barriers to be faced. Just because an organisation wants or needs to change, doesn't mean that transformation will run smoothly. Strong will with good intention is important to achieve change. Support systems play vital roles in implementing change and leading to the right destination. If there is no plan, and the people impacted by the change aren't guided properly, things can go wrong. Team collaboration is important to resolve resistance and accept individual perspective.

It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change.’
